Project Runway Season 10 | Episode 11

EPISODE 11 | ITS FASHION, BABY!

For this episode, the designers were taken to Babies-R-Us for a look at Heidi Klum's personal fashion line for kids: Truly Scrumptious. There they got to meet with their "clients" and...the mothers! The challenge was to design a toddlers look that both fit into the collection and satisfied the mom, and also design a companion piece for the mother!

ABOUT MY DESIGN

The child: I decided to go with smart casual for the boy's outfit, pairing a denim vest that snaps closed over a t-shirt (with the little monster print from Heidi's line), a soft hat, grey cargo pants with patterned pockets, and light blue Converse-lookalike shoes.

For the mother's outfit, I took the lighter shade of blue from the child color palette for a simple dress with a ruffled collar, and then added a jewel blue cardigan over the top. The outfit could be dressed up for events or dressed down for a more casual day.

Both outfits would be no fuss, no muss: easy to put on, clean, and look stylish in.
